Our summer of fun began with a visit from Scott! We spent the weekend eating and eating (as per Scott's request :-)). Scott and Kevin had a fun Friday afternoon at the Googleplex eating in the gourmet cafeterias and touring Google's campus. Kevin-Just accepted an offer to work at Google. He starts May 14th. He will work at the Googleplex (Google's world headquarters) in Mountain View, CA as an Internal Controls Analyst. He is excited about the lap pool, Google Cafe, and the short commute from our condo (approx. 8 miles)- and no more Cal-train or commuting to SF!! Allen (Kev's dad) met with his doctor at Stanford's Comprehensive Cancer Center today and was excited to learn that he is responding to the chemo!!!! Shari, Kevin, and Shauna were able to be with him at the hospital to celebrate the good news. Tests indicate that he no longer has any cancer in his liver. Tumors in lungs, bone, and lymph nodes have shrunk and tumors in his brain haven't increased.

News Flash: Scotty has been transferred to Wales. He is super excited...He's been transfered to a zone called Merthyr Tydfil in Wales...the furthest away from the Mission office. In the past it's been referred to as Outer Darkness, and basically deemed as the place you don't want to go. Just a quick update- As most of you know, Kevin's dad was recently diagnosed with cancer (stage 4 melanoma). He will be starting chemo this Monday at Stanford Hospital using the protocol that the doctors at M.D. Anderson recommended. The protocol includes several drugs that will hopefully target the cancer in his brain, lymph nodes, liver, and lungs. They will do two 3 week cycles of the chemo

It looks like it's going to be another year until Mom gets more free time again...She has been asked to continue as Board of Trustees President for SAGE Eldercare for another term.Not that she cares about having free time, she is always keeping herself crazy busy. This weekend Kevin and I went with a group from the Stanford wards (about 20 adventurous people) and hiked Half-Dome in Yosemite National Park.
